Jump In to the 2015 Outdoor Pool Season – Outdoor Pools Open Memorial Day Weekend

The City of Alexandria 2015 Outdoor Pool Season opens Saturday, May 23 at the Old Town Pool, 1609 Cameron St., and Memorial Pool at Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St on Saturday, May 23. The complete 2015 Outdoor Pool season operating schedule is as follows:

Old Town Pool, 1609 Cameron St.

  • This complex includes a 25-yard pool with a diving well. A separate training pool is available for children up to 42 inches in height. Easily accessible for disabled, the training pool has a water depth range of 1-3 feet. For added convenience, a parking lot, picnic area and a tot playground are adjacent to the pool.
    • May 23 – September 6: Saturdays & Sundays, 12-7 p.m.
    • May 26 – June 19: Monday – Friday, 4-7 p.m.
    • June 22 – July 31: Monday – Friday, 12-8 p.m.
    • August 1 – August 21: Monday – Friday, 12-7 p.m.
    • August 24 – September 4: Monday – Friday, 4-7 p.m.

Memorial Pool, 901 Wythe St.

  • This small pool is able to accommodate a maximum of 45 guests at any given time. Due to limited size, access is limited to Alexandria residents 13 years of age and younger. Parents are welcome to accompany their children. Operating hours are subject to change. Please call 703.746.5414 for current fee information.
    • May 23 – September 6: Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. & Sundays, 12-6 p.m.
    • May 26 – June 19: Monday – Friday, 4-7 p.m.
    • June 22 – July 31: Monday – Friday, 12-8 p.m.
    • August 1 – September 4: Monday – Friday, 12-6 p.m.

Warwick Pool, 3301 Landover St.

  • CLOSED for 2015 Pool Season – As part of the FY 2015 budget discussion and final approval, Warwick Pool received funding to operate in the Summer of 2014 only and it was decided that the Warwick Pool would not open in 2015.

All outdoor pools are open holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., including Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. For a complete list of City pools, operating hours, fees and additional information, visit www.alexandriava.gov/Aquatics.

  1. Great article. Thank you for showing something about public pools. They are such a great way to bring a community together. As I own a pool company we love to care for public pools and meet with so many people from the community. What a great experience.
