On May 30, 2015 from 12-3 p.m. you can get the chance to savor the flavor of the 18th century. The Carlyle House, 121 N. Fairfax in Old Town, will hold their annual hands-on history tent. There will be lots of kid activities as the event is designed for children between the ages of 3 and 12, but all can have fun. Families can explore the history of Colonial times through food, crafts and activities. There will be open hearth cooking, ice cream making and butter making while seeing an 18th century kitchen. Colonial bake treats will be for sale as well. Proceeds will benefit education programs of Carlyle House. Admission is free but donations are welcome.
