Police Make Arrest in Malicious Wounding

The Alexandria Police Department has arrested Juan Carlos Garay, 24, of Alexandria, in connection to the Malicious Wounding that occurred in the 4100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue last night. Garay is charged with Malicious Wounding, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Gang Participation.   

Around 11 p.m. on June 16, police responded to a report of a shooting. An adult male victim was transported to the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury to the hip. The shooting occurred after a verbal altercation, during which the suspect made reference to a criminal street gang. The investigation is on-going.
