The Lambs Quarter
Peach University at Old Town Farmers’ Market
In case you missed it, peaches are officially at market!  Wonder what the difference is between cling, freestone, white, and yellow?  As a quick guide, peaches get sweeter as the summer progresses.  Right now our orchards have cling peaches, which means the peach flesh hangs onto the pit and has to be pulled away.  The fruit is delicious but not good for recipes that require pretty slices, like pies and tarts.  Freestone varieties ripen later in the summer–you’ll see them at market in ~2 weeks.  Want more info?  Click on this link from Clemson University: https://youtu.be/XbMxm6hXk04.  Look for peaches at market from Ashton Farm, Bigg Riggs, and Spring Valley.
