ALEXANDRIA – The Northern Virginia Association of Realtors has endorsed Bob Wood for the Alexandria City Council, his campaign announced today.
In endorsing Wood, a spokesman for the association said, “Wood has a good understanding of business issues and will add outstanding leadership to the City Council as they consider how to maintain and grow Alexandria’s economic prosperity.”
“I’m honored by this endorsement of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors,” Wood said. “The association and I share a belief in protecting those activities and policies that advance home values and promote livable neighborhoods.”
“Our neighborhoods and our communities are central to what we often call “quality of life,” he added. “This association and its members help build and sustain this quality every day, working to insure that professional standards are understood and applied correctly. They understand both the hopes and concerns of our citizens as our communities grow and change. They have an important voice in our city.”
The NVAR endorsement followed an earlier one by the Alexandria teachers association, and Wood, a graduate of T.C. Williams High School, West Point, and the University of Chicago said that “the two endorsements reflect support for my belief that strong neighborhoods and strong schools go hand-in hand.
“I’m pleased to have these associations supporting my candidacy and my efforts to protect our neighborhoods, improve our schools and build a sustainable future for all Alexandrians,” he said.
