The Alexandria Library Foundation Launches 50-50 Campaign Encouraging Customers to Donate to a Good Cause
Alexandria, VA September 14, 2015 – The Alexandria Library and the Alexandria Library Foundation are seeking your donations to support its materials budget.

Over the last decade, the Library has lost almost 40% of its materials budget. For every tax-deductible dollar you donate to the Library, the City of Alexandria will match your donation, up to $50,000. Your donations will be used to enhance our collections by purchasing books, DVDs, e-books, and more.

Recent projects the Foundation has supported include:

  • Beatley Central Library Children’s Department Upgrade and Mural
  • Duncan Branch Library Garden Benches
  • Beatley Central Library Meeting Room Renovation and Equipment Upgrade
  • Collections including books, digital resources, and periodicals for all locations
  • Library staff development and training

The continued generosity of the community is needed for the Alexandria Library to provide the excellent service and materials our residents deserve.

Chartered in 1998, the Alexandria Library Foundation was formed to enhance the Alexandria Library’s services through private donations.
