Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday a Success!
Small Business Saturday was a huge hit this year!  Held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (and day after Black Friday), Small Business Saturday helps to draw attention to the benefits of shopping local.  We had TWO local news teams out at market; check it out here.  Don’t forget that our wonderful artisans are here all month long with jewelry, knitwear, painting, ornaments and more!

Market to Table Recipe – Roasted Beets!
Beets are the unsung hero of the winter vegetables: high in many vitamins and minerals as well as folic acid, beets are available all winter long.  You can roast and prepare beets a hundred different ways, depending on your taste preference and how much time you’d like to spend in the kitchen!  General roasting rule is 1.5 inch chunks of peeled beets for 45 minutes at 400 degrees.  Make sure they’re tossed in oil before you put them in the oven!  Beets pair great with goat cheese, citrus, and warm spices like cumin.  Here’s some practical tips on how to roast beets.
