Homebuyer Training Classes Scheduled
Start the new year in your first home!  Learn how to navigate the homebuying process by attending one of two upcoming workshops sponsored by the City of Alexandria. Workshop attendees will learn about personal finance and credit reporting, how to prepare for homeownership, and the basics of the homebuying process.  Presenters include lenders, real estate agents, home inspectors and housing counselors.

Classes are offered at no charge to participants. Completion of one of these workshops leads to a certificate from the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) and access to below market rate mortgage financing.

The training sessions will be held on January 23 and again on February 27 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe Street in Alexandria. Registration may now be completed online through the VHDA website.
