A Mix of American Heritage Chocolate and Tavern Libations

Celebrate Valentine’s Day like a Founding Father! On Sunday, February 14 from 3-4:30 p.m., enjoy a special tasting experience while learning about 18th-century beverages and American Heritage chocolate from Mars International. This special blend of chocolate based on 18th-century techniques will be accompanied deliciously with a variety of beverages including beer, rum, and whiskey. End the afternoon with a Madeira chocolate mousse.

Tickets are $45 per person inclusive and advance reservations are required. Check in at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, 134 N. Royal Street.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 703.746.4242 or through the online shop at http://shop.alexandriava.gov.

In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Gadsby’s Tavern was the center of social and political life in Alexandria and the new Federal City of Washington.  The tavern served as the premier gathering place for residents – including George Washington – and visitors to eat, drink, learn, and influence history.
