NWS Issues Wind Chill Advisory for Alexandria | Weather Alert | Old Town Post

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind chill advisory for Alexandria and surrounding areas from 6:00 p.m. February 13, 2016 until 9:00 a.m on February 14, 2o16.

Wind chills will be from 0 to 5 degrees below zero.  Winds will be out of the Northwest at 20 to 30 m.p.h. with up to 50 m.p.h. gusts. Temperatures will be falling into the single digits to low teens.

A wind chill advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine generate low wind chills.  This could result in frostbite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
