Applications are now being accepted for the Alexandria Marketing Fund, a grant program that provides seed money in the form of matching funds for new and innovative marketing programs. The program also provides grants for the expansion of ongoing or pre-existing programs.
Applicants must review the Marketing Fund website and online application form before applying for funding. The next application deadline is April 8, 2016.
The Fund is designed to increase revenues within the city by fostering public/private partnerships that promote Alexandria as a destination for visiting, shopping and dining, and doing business. The Marketing Fund seeks to support marketing programs that demonstrate how they will become financially self-sustaining over time.
City Council appropriates monies for the Fund on an annual basis, and the Marketing Fund Committee reviews and approves applications for grants. Applicants receive additional guidance from the Marketing Coordinating Council, which provides preliminary application review and feedback to applicants and to the Committee.
