The City of Alexandria’s Office of Housing is now marketing two affordable homeownership units. To be eligible for the purchase of one of these units, homebuyers must live or work in the City of Alexandria, be first-time homebuyers (no homeownership in the most recent three year period), and have a gross annual income within the applicable limits.
The first home is located in the Bollingbrook Condominium community, 3240 28th Street, Unit 202, and is available through the City’s Alexandria Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The condominium is priced at $168,832. This is a two bedroom, one-bath home which has been fully renovated. In addition to City purchase assistance of up to $50,000, the buyer may be eligible for a grant of up to $4,000 for closing costs. Applicants for this unit must have an income below the following limits:
- 1 person – $60,820
- 2 person – $69,500
- 3 person – $78,190
- 4 person – $86,880
The second home is a Resale Restricted Homeownership unit at the Quaker Hill Condominiums. This one-bedroom with den, priced at $243,500 is located at 1100 Quaker Hill Drive, Unit 311 . Applicants must have a gross annual income below the following limits:
- 1 person – $76,020
- 2 person – $86,880
- 3 person – $97,740
The City of Alexandria can provide a shared equity downpayment and closing cost assistance loan of up to $50,000 to qualifying households. Newly released HUD income limits can be found here.
