Today is Alexandria’s Spring2Action day, and we are all encouraged to support local non-proifits organizations. This year the Office of Historic Alexandria has selected the Friends of Alexandria Archaeology (FOAA) in their effort to fundraise for the preservation of the 18th-century wooden ship recently discovered at 220 South Union Street.

Please consider a generous donation and help Save Our Ship! Just go to https://spring2action.razoo.com/Saveourship

Today, if you’re local, you can support the Spring2Action #SaveOurShip effort by ….

  1. Eating at Holy Cow, Pork Barrel BBQ or Sweet Fire Donna’s and mentioning Friends of Alexandria Archaeology (or “FOAA”) when you order. A portion of your meal with be donated to #SaveOurShipand there is a contest for the most designations.
  2. Attending this evening’s fundraising Happy Hour aboard the Potomac Riverboat Company’s “Ms. Christin” moored at the Alexandria marina behind the Torpedo Factory Art Center, 105 North Union Street, between 6 and 9 pm. Bring a $10 donation (or more) and enjoy food donated by King Street Blues, cash bar and enter a raffle for prizes. The Power Hour donation contest is between 7 and 8 pm.

To date, over $9,000 has been raised; we hope to raise $25,000 by midnight tonight and with your help, WE CAN DO IT!
