Celebrate Historic Preservation Happy Hour
Thursday, April 28, 6-8 p.m.
Gadsby’s Tavern Courtyard
134 N. Royal St.
Join fellow historic preservationists for conversation and good cheer, and to informally discuss preservation in Alexandria. This Historic Preservation Happy Hour kicks off a series of events locally celebrating the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act. Cash bar and tavern fare are available for purchase.
Communities across the country are sponsoring events to celebrate this important milestone, known nationally as Preservation50 (preservation50.org). The Department of Planning and Zoning and the Office of Historic Alexandria are hosting a series of events to highlight Alexandria’s historic preservation initiatives and to contemplate future efforts. Whether you are interested in learning more about masonry repointing and restoring historic windows, how to research historic buildings or how to preserve places that are culturally significant, there are events for all.
This series of events is sponsored by the Office of Historic Alexandria, Alexandria Department of Planning & Zoning, and AIA NOVA Historic Resources Commission.
The City of Alexandria is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended. To request a reasonable accommodation, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 703.746.3808, Virginia Relay 711.
