Alexandria, VA – September 9, 2016 – The Alexandria Library will be hosting dozens of events to celebrate its Open House Week during Library Card Sign-Up Month in September. We will be holding special events at each location, starting at Barrett Branch on Saturday, September 17 and ending with Beatley Central’s Fall Festival on Saturday, September 24.

During the whole month of September, customers are encouraged to pick up an Alexandria Library passport at any location to document their visits through our libraries. At each branch stop, customers will receive a sticker affixed to the passport book on the visited branch location. The Library will also be handing out various giveaways to customers, including exclusive Open House giveaways.

The Open Houses will be held: Saturday, September 17 at Barrett Branch and Local History/Special Collections Branch; Tuesday, September 20 at Burke Branch; Wednesday, September 21 at Duncan Branch, and Saturday, September 24 at Beatley Central Library.

After successfully visiting and covering four (4) of six (6) branch locations in your Open House passport, you can submit it for a chance to win a grand prize giveaway in October. Completed passports can be submitted until Friday, September 30 at 6 p.m. at any branch location.
