Dog Swim at Alexandria Pools | Fireman Mike | Old Town Post

Swimming dogs are coming to Alexandria’s pools.

On Friday, September 16, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., small dogs (under 50 pounds) can swim for free at Memorial Pool at 901 Wythe Street.

On Saturday, September 17, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., all dogs can swim for free at the Old Town Pool at 1609 Cameron Street.

All dogs must be City of Alexandria residents and have current proof of rabies vaccination. The event is free but space is limited.

The City has set up a reservation system where you can reserve a 45 minute time slot for your dog starting on the hour.  Late comers will get to swim for the remaining part of the hour. Dogs can swim into the next hour if space permits. Walk-in doggie swimmers are welcome but only as space permits.

You may click on the following link to reserve a space for your dog: Alexandria Dog Swim.  Once on the Alexandria Parks and Recreation website you will need to type “dog swim” in the search activity keyword box. You will need to create an account and/or sign in on the site prior to making a reservation.

The event is sponsored by Your Dog’s Best Friend.  See the alexandriadogswim web page for any further details and questions.
