Art on the Avenue, in the Del Ray section of Alexandria on Mount Vernon Avenue, will take place this Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.. The event will feature over 300 artists displaying their goods for sale.

Food vendors will be on site serving up crab cakes, hot dogs, burgers, BBQ, and plenty of other food and drinks. A special treat this year is that Al’s Steak House will be serving up their delicious cheesesteaks.
Children who attend the event will get a chance to stuff their own scarecrow, paint pumpkins, and participate in many forms of art projects. A special feature at the Art on the Avenue event will be students painting a dash bus at 203 East Custis Avenue. Every year this event caters to families with a special emphasis on children’s activities.
Mount Vernon Avenue will be closed off between Bellefonte and Hume Avenues. 50,000 plus visitors are anticipated to attend the day long event.
