NWS Extends Coastal Flood Advisory for Alexandria | Weather Alert | Old Town Post

The National Weather Service (NWS) extended the coastal flood advisory for Alexandria and the surrounding areas until Midnight on Saturday October  2, 2016.

A coastal flood advisory means that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

The next high tides in Alexandria will be at 9.00 p.m. tonight and tomorrow October 1, 2016 at 9:18 a.m..  The tidal anomaly will be 1.5 to 2 feet above normal.

Water will reach the intersection of King and Union Streets in Old Town, Alexandria a couple hours before high tide.
