Kids, learn about Alexandria’s potters at this fun, hands-on activity at the Alexandria Archaeology Museum, during the Torpedo Factory Art Center’s Art Safari, this Saturday, October 8 from 12 to 4 p.m.
Discover Alexandria’s salt-glazed stoneware potters and the decorative patterns unique to H.C. Smith (1825-1841) and B.C. Milburn (1841-1876).
You’ll be able to copy or create your own take-home designs on paper, with markers, paint, or both, at this free, drop-in activity.
Volunteers: Please contact Alexandria Archaeology at archaeology@alexandriava.gov or 703.746.4399 if you would like to help with the Potter’s Art! We can use volunteers between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
