Alexandria College-Aged Students Invited to Apply for Summer 2017 Internship in Caen, France
The Alexandria-Caen Sister Cities Committee invites Alexandria students who are currently in college to apply for a one month full-time internship at the City Hall in Caen, France. The intern’s primary task is serving as an English-speaking tour guide of City Hall. This involves memorizing historical information about City Hall and providing several tours per day to English-speaking tourists. Interns receive a stipend of 1100 euros provided by the Caen City Government. Free housing provided in a university dorm or with a family arranged by the Caen-Alexandria Sister City Committee. The internship does not pay for meals, plane ticket, or local travel expenses.
Ability to speak, read, and understand French with ease
Resident of the City of Alexandria
Between the ages of 18 and 21
Completion of at least one year of college
Must be comfortable living independently in a dorm
Good social and communication skills
Ability to cover travel expenses to and from Caen as well as in-country expenses
Willingness to present your experience to members of the Caen-Alexandria Sister City Committee after you return from Caen.
