Tomorrow is Spring2ACTion!
Some homeless people in Alexandria struggle for years to get the support that they need to secure a job, a home and a self-sustaining future. The longer people struggle, the harder it is to connect with them and to provide them the services that they need to get back on track. Because of you, hundreds of the hardest to reach people in Alexandria can get the support they need to rebuild their lives.
Your donations make it possible for Carpenter’s Shelter to help those who need it the most. Carpenter’s Shelter operates David’s Place, the only day shelter in the City of Alexandria that offers homeless men and women a safe place to rest, take showers, do laundry, and have access to a telephone, internet and a mailing address. David’s Place is the starting point for hundreds of men and women who begin to build their future.
Last year, 174 men and women found support at David’s Place. Of those 174 adults, 45 took the steps necessary to enter a residential shelter program, moving even closer to securing permanent housing and finding stability.
We need your help tomorrow to provide stability and support for those struggling to end their homelessness. Please donate and ask your friends and family to donate to Carpenter’s Shelter on Wednesday, April 5th during Spring2ACTion and continue supporting the men and women of Alexandria who need you the most. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to fund David’s Place for an entire year to continue providing refuge and support for the homeless in our community. Thanks to the Mason Hirst Foundation, the first $10,000 raised will be matched, so you can double your impact.
Together, we can continue to be the change that Alexandria’s most vulnerable need to create a more stable future.
Make your contribution today, and it will automatically be counted towards our goal on April 5th!
