Hi Folks,

Join us today at the Old Town North Community Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market.
Alexandria’s favorite dog friendly market.

901 North Royal Street
The Montgomery Park.
3pm-7pm

Chef Michael of the Pretentious Gourmet promises chocolate chip, chai spiced, apricot and pecan oatmeal, and Double Chocolate Expresso cookies along with treats for our four legged friends.  Sara of Dream of Goodies brings a new delight…cupcakes! Vanilla cupcakes with chocolate avocado or coconut frosting.  All of Sara’s baked goods are gluten free and low glycemic. Twin Springs Fruit Farms, voted the best of DC, brings us farm fresh produce, Allen’s eggs from Happy Free Walking Hens, artisans cheeses, and just baked bread from Stone Hearth Bakery. Try a sample of their dried apples, a perfect healthy treat.  For our savory lovers, Big D’s Irish Batch Bread, Barbecue Sauce and Bread and Butter pickles are sure to please.  Rumor has it his wife, Bruna of My Lovely Brigadeiro may be sharing some of her luscious Brazilian truffles at the market.

LuLaRoe returns to the market next week, Thursday April 27th

In the community…there is much to share…

Thank you to all who came out last night (Thursday, April 13, 2017) to the Old Town North Small Area Plan Community Open House to mark the release of the full Draft Old Town North Small Area Plan.  The Old Town North Small Area Plan planning process began in fall 2015 to establish a framework for future planning and development in the area. Beginning in fall 2016, community members have had the opportunity to provide feedback on draft chapters of the Plan document as well as on the Draft Urban Design Standards and Guidelines.  Community members are invited to review and comment on the compiled Draft Old Town North Small Area Plan document through May 18, 2017. Comments received will inform the final draft document to be presented to City Council in June of this year.
