The weather should be perfect today for the Old Town North Community Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market. Alexandria’s Favorite Dog-Friendly Market.

The Lopez family brings us fresh fruits and vegetables from their farm in the Northern Neck. Last Thursday they were sampling the most delicious heirloom tomatoes, watermelon and cantaloupe. Yum! Sara of Dream of Goodies delights with mini chocolate cake with fresh raspberries, mini rum cakes, carrot cakes (mini cakes and cake jars), and strawberry whoopie pies to accompany the vanilla and peanut butter whoopie pies. All of Dream of Goodies offerings are low glycemic, gluten free, non -GMO and sure to please! Chef Michael continues to brighten the hearts of all with Chocolate Chip, Chai Spiced, Cranberry and White Chocolate Oatmeal, and of course his Double Chocolate Espresso recipes, along with treats and toys for our four legged friends. Celebrating a night out with friends? Jaimie of Unique Jewelry and Things has a great selection of jewelry pieces to accent any outfit. Our new bread vendors Jose and Joanna will be back at the market with their wonderful selection of breads as soon as they receive their letter of approval from the Department of Health. Can’t wait!

The Taste of Old Town North is almost here…September 8th – September 17th. This Celebration of the diverse neighborhoods of Old Town North including the Canal District, Parker-Gray, Braddock and Potomac Green highlights local businesses and restaurants. A portion of the proceeds from the Taste will benefit the Carpenter’s Shelter. Stop by the Old Town North Community Table at the Market to learn more. Early bird tickets for the Taste will be available at the Community Table next week.
