Lionel Lopez and his family bring us fresh fruits and veggies from their farm in the Northern Neck. Last week they were sampling the sweetest watermelon, a true taste of summer. For a complete list of what is in season check out http://www.vdacs.virginia.gov/pdf/producechart.pdf Ana of Sweet Twist of Ecuador brings us two new soup flavors with superfoods. One is with cauliflower, broccoli, carrot, potsre and quinoa and the second soup is squash, carrot, shallot, and amaranth and vegan ice cream made from local produce. I plan to bring a pint of her freshly made ice cream to a Friday evening dinner party. The perfect late summer desert! Sara of Dream of Goodies continues to delight with Mini rum cakes, “banana split” cake jars (vanilla and chocolate cake with strawberries, banana, vanilla and chocolate avocado frosting) and chocolate raspberry cake jars, and lemon curd mini cakes and cake jars.
