Duncan Branch Library Closed for Renovations from October 23-28 | News Release | Alexandria Library


Alexandria, VA – October 10, 2017 – Alexandria Library’s James M. Duncan, Jr. Branch Library – located at 2501 Commonwealth Avenue – will be closed for renovations from Monday, October 23 to Saturday, October 28. The Duncan Branch will reopen to the public on Sunday, October 29, at 1:00 p.m.

If you have items on hold, you may have the hold suspended during the closure.  Please contact any Alexandria Library for assistance with your hold requests. Materials may still be returned through the outdoor book drop at the Duncan Branch, or to any of our other locations.

Items checked out at the Duncan Branch will not be due during this time period. If you have books on your account that are due during the closure please call any Library location to have the due dates extended.

Customers are encouraged to visit other libraries in the City during the temporary closure. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience!
