It’s time to Spring2ACTion!
Last year, Carpenter’s Shelter supporters like you raised over $40,000 during Spring2ACTion, Alexandria’s Day of Giving! This year, we’re counting on you again.
Spring2ACTion is the sole source of funding for David’s Place, the only day shelter in the City of Alexandria. David’s Place is a refuge for chronically homeless adults and it offers a safe place to rest, take showers, do laundry, receive mail, and use telephone, voicemail, and internet services. Without David’s Place, the most vulnerable residents of our community would have nowhere to turn for support. Our supporters’ Spring2ACTion investment last year ensured that 120 adults could benefit from David’s Place in 2017. Of those 120 adults, 39 moved even closer to finding stability, either entering a residential shelter program or securing housing in the community!
This year, we’ve set the goal to raise $50,000, which will fund David’s Place operations for an entire year and allow for the purchase of some new furnishings and other items for the space. Donors who contribute to the first $10,000 raised will have the chance to double their impact thanks to a generous matching grant from The Mason Hirst Foundation.
We need your help to keep the hope of housing stability alive! Please donate—and ask your family and friends to donate as well!—to Carpenter’s Shelter on Wednesday, April 25th during Spring2ACTion and support the men and women of Alexandria who need you the most.
Make your contribution today and it will automatically go toward our goal for April 25th!
